Gene Ballou, keyboards, was born in Lubbock, Texas, and grew up in south and central Texas.
His family attended Pentecostal churches and he was raised on exuberant music such as what they are known for! He began playing keyboards with one finger, on a broken down upright piano at the age of 9 and never looked back. After several hand surgeries, he has the use of 5 fingers now. He began playing piano in church at the age of 17 and started writing his own music at 19, always strongly influenced by the darker more gritty sound of blues and rock keyboard instruments. Gene began playing with 10
th Leper in 1997, and has grown and developed his own unique style of keyboards, playing on both of 10th Leper's CDs.
He has places on MySpace and YouTube. His personal web page is at http://www.gene-ballou.info
